Following the news that Feyenoord are hoping to re-sign John Guidetti in the summer, it has emerged that the club's technical director was in Scotland at the weekend.

Guidetti currently turns out for Scottish champions Celtic on a season-long loan from Manchester City. However, his contract with the Citizens, which expires at the end of the season, has made him an attractive prospect for a number of clubs, including Feyenoord.

The Swedish striker spent the 2011/12 season on loan at De Kuip and scored 20 goals in 23 Eredivisie games, leaving a long lasting impression.

Now he is wanted back at Feyenoord and according to Dutch magazine Voetbal International, the first steps were taken at the weekend.

Feyenoord technical director Martin van Geel, who manages transfer policy at the Dutch giants, is thought to have met with Guidetti.

It is believed Van Geel sounded out Guidetti over a return to Feyenoord, where he remains a cult hero with the club's supporters following his wonder season in the Netherlands.

Celtic want to keep Guidetti on a permanent basis, but of late he has struggled to score consistently and has often been benched by manager Ronny Deila.

Guidetti has also been linked with French outfit Marseille and Italian giants Inter.
