With Arsenal and Manchester United said to be interested in his services, Borussia Dortmund midfielder Ilkay Gundogan is interested in a move to the Premier League.

The Germany international has recaptured some of his old form after recovering from a career threatening back injury and with his contract running out in the summer of 2016, Dortmund are keen to offer a new deal to the player to extend his stay at the club.

There has been speculation that the club and the player are close to agreeing a new deal and many believe it is just a matter of time before Gundogan puts pen to paper on a new long term contract at the Westfalenstadion.

However, according to German magazine Sport Bild, the deal is not a formality and the player is considering a move to the Premier League this summer, certain in the knowledge there is significant interest in his services.

Manchester United have been keeping track of Gundogan’s fitness since he returned to action earlier in the season and Louis van Gaal is, it has been claimed, keen to add his considerable talent to his squad at Old Trafford.

Meanwhile, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger was even tackled about his interest in Gundogan in January, though at the time stressed a defender was his priority.
