Roma sporting director Walter Sabatini has insisted that the club are keen to keep Manchester United target Radja Nainggolan at the Stadio Olimpico.

The Belgian midfielder has been one of the most consistent performers for Roma this season and has played a key role in minimising the effect of Kevin Strootman’s absence in their midfield.

However, the midfielder is keen to get a pay rise and it has been claimed that he is demanding a salary of around €4m per season, on a par with the best paid players in the Roma squad.

It has been speculated that Roma are not keen to offer such an improved contract to Nainggolan and they are believed to be ready to listen to offers for him in the summer.

However, Sabatini claimed that the club are keen to keep the player at the Stadio Olimpico and revealed that they have already spoken to Nainggolan about his future.

“We want to keep Nainggolan at Roma”, Sabatini told Rai Sport.

“We have already talked to the boy.”

Should he be made available in the summer, Roma are expecting to attract offers of around €30m as there are a number of clubs such as Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool who are believed to be interested in acquiring his services.
