Roma have jumped into the race to sign Monaco midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia, who has also been linked with Liverpool.

Kondogbia impressed for Monaco in the Champions League this season, enforcing the Ligue 1 side's midfield and helping Leonardo Jardim's men reach the quarter-final of the competition, knocking out Arsenal along the way.

Monaco are ready to offload a number of players in the summer as they seek to remain on the right side of UEFA's financial fair play rules and Kondogbia could depart if a substantial bid arrives.

Now Roma are actively looking at a potential swoop for Kondogbia, according to Italian outlet Tutto Mercato, as they bid to strengthen their options in the middle of the park.

The Monaco man also has other admirers in Italy, with both AC Milan and Inter having been linked with making a move for his services.
