Leeds United sporting director Nicola Salerno has confirmed that Sol Bamba has been snapped up by the Whites.

Salerno's own position at Elland Road is under a cloud and he may well part ways with the Whites in the coming days. However, first the Italian is aiming to address those items in his inbox, of which Bamba was one.

The sporting director personally spoke with the Ivorian on the phone last week to keep him on a permanent basis following the conclusion of his loan at the club from Palermo.

He also confirmed that another player Leeds loaned this season, Granddi N'Goyi, will not be kept on at Elland Road permanently.

"Bamba, we redeemed [on Wednesday]", he told Italian outlet Tutto Mercato.

"N'Goyi had some physical problems he did not reveal, however, he is a strong player and I have positive words for him.

"He has shown that he has great quality, both physical and technical."

Bamba impressed during his loan spell with Leeds, although N'Goyi's injury issues scuppered his chances of making an impact with the Yorkshire giants; the midfielder has most recently been linked with a move to Greece.

The Whites will be delighted to have secured Bamba for next term, with the Ivorian also having been linked with Championship rivals Middlesbrough.
