Napoli are ready to try to persuade Juventus to part with their defensive gem Daniele Rugani this summer, despite Arsenal already failing with a bid for the centre-back.

Rugani has just signed off on a hugely impressive loan campaign with Empoli, a spell which further boosted his stock as one of the most promising defenders in Italian football.

Arsenal duly lodged a bid with Juventus for the starlet, but the Bianconeri wasted no time in knocking it back.

Now, according to Turin-based daily Tuttosport, Napoli are looking to capture Rugani.

Napoli believe that Rugani would go a long way towards addressing the defensive issues which torpedoed their top three Serie A bid last term.
