Manchester United are in regular contact with Hugo Lloris' representatives as the Frenchman ending up at Old Trafford this summer remains a distinct possibility.

The Red Devils have Lloris in mind as a replacement for David de Gea, who is being chased by Real Madrid and only has a year remaining on his contract in England.

The France international has also been assured by Spurs chairman Daniel Levy that he can leave if an acceptable offer lands at White Hart Lane this summer, with €25m the minimum fee needed.

While talk of Lloris to Manchester United has died down in recent weeks, according to French sports daily L'Equipe, the Red Devils remain in regular contact with the goalkeeper's agents.

And that is seen as a sign that Manchester United are still serious about signing Lloris if De Gea leaves this summer.

Lloris is under contract at White Hart Lane until the summer of 2019 and received a verbal assurance from Levy over a potential departure prior to signing his new deal.

The 28-year-old is considered one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League and has flourished at Spurs.

However, at White Hart Lane, Lloris has regularly missed out on the Champions League football he tasted at former club Lyon, and has appeared to indicate he would look favourably upon an approach from the Red Devils.
