Manchester United are prepared to offer big money for Bayern Munich forward Thomas Muller this summer, according to German broadcaster Sport1.

There was speculation last week that Manchester United have prepared a substantial financial package for their pursuit of the Germany international.

While Muller is keen to continue at Bayern Munich, Manchester United are confident that their big money offer will do the trick in convincing the Bavarians to part with their academy graduate this summer.

According to German broadcaster Sport1, the English giants are ready to put €82m on Bayern Munich’s table to prise Muller away from Bavaria in the current transfer window.

It has been claimed that initial talks have taken place between Manchester United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward and Bayern Munich CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge about the proposed transfer of the Germany international to Old Trafford.

Manchester United allegedly have a mammoth transfer budget for the summer and Louis van Gaal is keen to direct a considerable portion of it to take Muller to England this summer.

The Red Devils boss is keen to add a quality attacker to his squad this summer and is known to be a big fan of Muller’s versatility as a forward.

The Bavarians are reluctant to lose the German forward but Manchester United are confident that their offer will be too hard to resist for even a financially stable club such as Bayern Munich.
