Transfer speculation involving striker Aleksandar Mitrovic has picked up a notch after he missed training with Anderlecht today.
Mitrovic has been linked with both Newcastle United, FC Porto and Roma, though it is thought to be the English club who have the upper hand in the race for his signature.
In a sign Anderlecht are taking no risk over any injury to the hitman, he was not involved in the club's training session today, according to Belgian daily HLN.
Also missing from training was another Anderlecht player widely linked with a transfer.
Chancel Mbemba, linked with Atletico Madrid, Wolfsburg and Newcastle, missed training along with Mitrovic.

In total Anderlecht had 20 players out training as they continue their preparations for the new Belgian campaign.
It remains to be seen whether Mitrovic's absence points to an imminent transfer away from the Belgian outfit.
