Serie A outfit Udinese have offered a contract to winger Simone Pepe, who has been on the radar of English Championship side Leeds United.

Pepe, who has admitted to having a soft spot for former club Udinese, was released by Italian champions Juventus earlier this summer.




He has a fan in Leeds owner Massimo Cellino and has conceded he does have an offer on his table from outside Italy.

But Udinese have made a decisive move to take Pepe to southern Italy for next season.
 

 

According to Italian daily Gazzetta dello Sport, Udinese have offered Pepe a one-year deal, which the winger is now considering.

The 31-year-old has struggled with injuries in recent years and Udinese are keen for him to prove his fitness over the course of the 2015/16 campaign.

Pepe turned out for Udinese between 2006 and 2010, at which time he joined Juventus.

The winger did have a loan stint with Cagliari in the 2006/07 campaign, at which time the club were owned by Leeds supremo Cellino.
