Nicolas Gaitan has cast doubt over whether he will move on from Benfica this summer after being questioned by a fan at the club's training base in the United States.

The Argentine winger has been continually linked with leaving the Estadio da Luz, with Manchester United and Atletico Madrid his two most likely destinations this summer.

Gaitan though is still with Benfica and there is no sign yet of a deal to take him away from the club materialising.

But Benfica fans are still worried about the possibility of Gaitan departing and he was asked by a fan to assure the supporters that he would be continuing with the Portuguese champions.

Gaitan was quoted by SAPO Desporto as replying: "Where would I go?"

Benfica have been keen to keep hold of Gaitan this summer, but the club's president insists he will not stand in the way of the Argentine if he does want to depart and an acceptable offer arrives.

Luis Felipe Vieira explained at the end of last month: "I know Gaitan wants to try out other leagues and for all that he has given to us, I would not like to end his ambition.

"However, there needs to be a fair offer, for both the player and Benfica."
