Norwich City are chasing FC Porto attacking midfielder Juan Quintero, but face competition from Italian side Chievo Verona.

The Colombian could quit the Estadio do Dragao this summer and is attracting attention from a number of clubs.

According to Italian outlet Tutto Mercato, Premier League new boys Norwich have proposed a two-year contract to Quintero, something which the midfielder is now considering.

Quintero knows that Chievo also hold an interest in him and is waiting to assess his options before taking a call on his future.

The 22-year-old has been linked with a move to England before, amid a firestorm of speculation last summer suggesting a deal with Arsene Wenger's Arsenal was done and dusted.

Wenger was even forced to comment on the speculation that Quintero would be joining the Gunners, saying: "That is wrong."

Now, a year later, Quintero could finally end up playing his football in the Premier League, albeit for Norwich rather than Arsenal.

Quintero struggled for playing time with Porto last season, not managing even a single 90-minute game in the Portuguese top flight and finding himself mostly reduced to substitute appearances.

His contract with Porto has a further two years to run.
