Leeds United defender Giuseppe Bellusci is wanted back in Italy before the transfer window closes.

Bellusci, who is a controversial figure at Elland Road after spats with the club's fans and his part in pulling out of a matchday squad at the last moment, could exit the club.

According to Italian outlet Tutto Mercato, both Atalanta and Bologna are looking at potential moves for Bellusci.

The defender's stock remains high in Italy and both Atalanta and Bologna view him as an ideal reinforcement ahead of the closure of the transfer window.

It remains to be seen whether Leeds will be willing to play ball or if Bellusci himself wants to return home.

The defender has been deployed by head coach Uwe Rosler this season, who has fielded him in the heart of defence with Sol Bamba.

Rosler does have other options though, with Liam Cooper pushing to dislodge Bellusci and the transfer window still open for the German to replace the Italian if he does leave.
