West Ham have kicked off a new push to sign striker Simone Zaza from Juventus, despite the Italian champions already resisting his departure.

The Hammers made a loan bid to snap up Zaza earlier this week, but hit trouble as Juventus suddenly opted to block talking about a departure for the former Sassuolo man.

Marseille though brought Zaza's name up in discussions with Juventus over midfielder Mario Lemina and now West Ham are back at the door for the Italy international.

According to Italian broadcaster Sky Italia, late last night the Hammers got in touch with Juventus once again to push for Zaza.

It is unclear whether Juventus have provided a response, but West Ham are frantically searching for another striker before the transfer window closes.
