IK Start have knocked back an offer from Molde for Celtic target and teenage prodigy Kristoffer Ajer.

The 17-year-old central midfielder has been attracting attention from some of the big names of European football, and was recently at Celtic on a one-week trial, with speculation that the club are interested in snapping him up.

However, he also has admirers in Norway, and Molde head coach Old Gunnar Solskjaer is a fan of the youngster, which has led to speculation that the club are plotting to snare him away from IK Start.

And Molde did put in a bid for the 17-year-old midfielder in recent days, but according to Norwegian outlet rbnett, Start have knocked back their offer, with suggestions that the club are not keen to sell him to another Norwegian club.

The player’s agent has already said that it is unlikely that Ajer will leave IK Start for another Norwegian outfit and it seems Molde’s attempts to sign the young prodigy might end in failure.
