A transfer for Jamie Vardy to Arsenal could result in Leicester City moving to sign Islam Slimani from Sporting Lisbon as his replacement.

Arsenal have triggered Vardy's £20m release clause at the King Power Stadium and are in talks to take the England international to the Emirates Stadium.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is a firm fan of Vardy and wants the Leicester striker to bolster his attacking options for next season.

And Leicester will be forced to replace Vardy if he does choose to leave the club for Arsenal.

According to Portuguese sports daily O Jogo, if Vardy does join Arsenal then Slimani could head to Leicester to replace him.
