Parma are interested in signing Mirco Antenucci, but are yet to agree terms with the former Leeds United striker, according to Italian broadcaster Sky Italia.

The 31-year-old, who scored nine goals and provided five assists in 39 Championship games in the 2015/16 campaign, has been released by the Whites.

As a result, several Italian clubs such as Avellino, Hellas Verona, Pescara and Benevento are interested in roping in the forward for free in the summer, with English outfits Birmingham City, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Wigan Athletic also keeping tabs on Antenucci.

Parma are the latest entrant into the race for the Italian, who joined Leeds from Ternana in 2014.

The Stadio Ennio Tardini outfit will meet Antenucci soon again for talks after failing to reach an agreement with the striker at the first attempt.

Antenucci, who counts Catania, Ascoli and Torino amongst his former employers, made 80 appearances in all competitions for Leeds, scoring 19 times and setting up eight goals.

He has insisted he is not set on returning to Italy and could well end up continuing his adventure abroad for the right offer.
