Fiorentina have drawn up a contract offer for Sunderland winger Emanuele Giaccherini as they attempt to put themselves in pole position to sign the Italy international.

Giaccherini has just a year remaining on his contract with Sunderland and after the Black Cats sent him on loan to Bologna in Serie A last season, he appears likely to leave the Premier League club this summer.

A clutch of Italian sides want Giaccherini, though it is Fiorentina who are making all the running and according to Italian daily Gazzetta dello Sport, they have drawn up a contract offer worth €1.2m per season for the winger.

The contract would run until the summer of 2019.

Sunderland have been claimed to be looking for €4m in order to sell Giaccherini, but it remains unclear whether any of his suitors are willing to meet that figure for someone who has just a year to run on his deal.
