RB Leipzig have had "good discussions" with Swiss giants Basel over signing forward Breel Embolo, who is also wanted by Manchester United.

The Bundesliga side had appeared all set to hoover up the 19-year-old's signature earlier this summer, but the deal fell apart.

Talks though have continued and according to Swiss daily Blick, the two clubs have held what have been described as "good discussions" even if they are not yet in agreement on a fee.

RB Leipzig want to pay €15m for Embolo, while Basel want €25m; €20m is thought likely to be a realistic figure for the Switzerland international.

But the deal could be complicated by the presence of Manchester United.

It has been claimed that Jose Mourinho has spoken to Embolo's agent and has now passed the matter on to super agent Jorge Mendes.

Manchester United have not yet though made a bid to Basel to sign Embolo and RB Leipzig will be hoping to get a deal done before the Red Devils firmly appear on the scene.

Embolo is currently in action at Euro 2016 with Switzerland.
