1.FC Koln striker Anthony Modeste is set to thrash out his future next week when he holds talks with the club's sporting director Jorg Schmadtke.

Modeste has been linked with Premier League side West Ham, but it is a lucrative proposal from Chinese Super League outfit Beijing Guoan which is keeping Koln up at night.

The German outfit believe if Modeste does choose to head to China then he could forget his international ambitions with France, but money could still talk for the 28-year-old.

According to German daily Bild, Modeste is due to hold talks with Schmadtke next week in a bid to decide his future.

Should the striker push to leave, Koln will play hardball as there is no clause currently active in his contract, placing the Bundesliga side in a strong position.

While a lucrative proposal from China is on the table for Modeste, West Ham recently contacted his representatives and a move to the Olympic Stadium could yet be a possibility if Koln relent and allow him to depart.

Modeste's current deal with Koln runs until the summer of 2019 and he is viewed as a key man by coach Peter Stoger.

Signed from Hoffenheim in 2015, Modeste has flourished under Stoger and scored 18 goals for Koln in the recently concluded season, as the side finished in ninth spot in the Bundesliga.
