Roma have knocked back an offer for striker Antonio Sanabria from Russian Premier League side Rubin Kazan.

Sanabria is expected to be on the move from the Italian capital this summer after catching the eye on a season-long loan in La Liga with Sporting Gijon.

The former Barcelona B man helped Sporting Gijon avoid relegation and has been strongly linked with Tottenham Hotspur in recent days, while Real Madrid and Sevilla are also alive to his talents.

According to Sky Italia, Rubin Kazan have made a move to try to snap up the Paraguay international, but will have to improve their offer to convince Roma to sell.

Rubin Kazan offered Roma a fee of €15m for Sanabria, while the player was offered €3m in wages, plus €1m as a signing-on fee.

Roma though knocked back the bid, considering it not to have met their asking price.

Sanabria has recently been in action at the Copa America in the United States with Paraguay and is thought to want to take his time before deciding his next career move.
