Arsenal have been linked with a move to sign Roma defender Kostas Manolas, but a deal at present is off the agenda, it has been claimed.

The Gunners are looking to add to their defensive options ahead of the forthcoming campaign and the Greek international has come onto the club's radar.

Manolas has been linked with both Chelsea and Manchester United already this summer, but a sell-on clause held by his former club Olympiacos makes Roma reluctant to deal.

And according to Sky Italia, there is little chance of Arsenal succeeding in a bid for Manolas at present.

Olympiacos' sell-on clause means they would scoop up an astonishing 50 per cent of the fee, making Roma wary of selling a defender they bought from the Greek champions in 2014 for €15m.
