Leeds United's imminent new arrival, an experienced international, is expected to undergo a medical with the club on Monday ahead of putting pen to paper on a contract with Garry Monk's men.

It emerged yesterday that Leeds have all but completed the signing of an unnamed player, who has been described as an experienced international and a "top" addition to the squad.

Speculation is rife over who the Whites are securing, with guesses on social media that the man in question could be former Crystal Palace defender Adrian Mariappa, who is a Jamaica international and would appear to fit the criteria.

But there have been no clues dropped as to who the player might be and Leeds fans are excitedly waiting for news.

It appears the Whites faithful will not have to wait too much longer as, according to Radio Yorkshire, the new player should have a medical on Monday with the Elland Road outfit.

Should he pass the medical, he will put pen to paper and be confirmed as Leeds' seventh summer signing.

The Yorkshire giants rounded off their pre-season preparations on Saturday by beating Italian Serie A side Atalanta 2-1 at Elland Road.

They are now building up for their opening game in the Championship, with a visit to Loftus Road next Sunday to play QPR topping the bill.
