Rotherham United have agreed a season-long loan deal with Scottish champions Celtic for midfielder Scott Allan.

The former Hibernian man joined Celtic just last summer, with the Bhoys beating their rivals Rangers to his signature and taking him to Paradise.

But Allan struggled to make his mark at Celtic under former Bhoys boss Ronny Deila, while it appears that he has also not been successful with new manager Brendan Rodgers, who is willing to loan him out.

Now Celtic have agreed to let Allan join Rotherham on a season-long loan, according to the Daily Record.

Allan will see a familiar face at the English Championship club in the shape of his former boss at Hibs, Alan Stubbs.

The midfielder will be keen to get back to playing regular first team football after a season on the fringes at Celtic.

Allan, 24, made only 13 appearances in the Scottish Premiership for Celtic last season, though he did provide his team-mates with four assists in the process.
