Italian businessman Andrea Radrizzani says he has been seeking to find out more about Leeds United, rather than being about to shake hands on an investment in the club.

The Italian, who was one of the founders of sports rights firm MP & Silva, has been linked with buying a major stake in Leeds, with suggestions yesterday that a deal was all but done.

Radrizzani was photographed sitting next to Leeds supremo Massimo Cellino during a pre-season friendly against Atalanta and then at Loftus Road as the Whites lost 3-0 to QPR last weekend.

But the Italian claims that he is simply seeking to understand Leeds better and is not ready to provide any update on a potential investment in the Yorkshire giants.

"I don’t have any update to provide related to Leeds", Radrizzani told the Yorkshire Evening Post.

"At the moment there is nothing concrete and [just a] simple conversation to understand the club better", he added.

Cellino currently owns in excess of 80 per cent of Leeds, but has flirted with selling up in recent times as he grows frustrated with a lack of progress towards promotion to the Premier League on the pitch.

It is unclear whether any move by Radrizzani to invest in Leeds would lead to the departure of Cellino.

The Whites are looking to push into the Championship playoffs this season as they seek a chance at making the promised land of the Premier League.
