Joleon Lescott's time at Aston Villa appears to be coming to an end as he is set to have a medical with Rangers tomorrow.

The centre-back endured a disastrous campaign with Villa last term as the club finished bottom of the Premier League, while he saw his performances hit with stinging criticism.

Aston Villa have been looking to offload Lescott and are willing to allow him to depart Villa Park for free.

Rangers have been putting free agent Philippe Senderos through his paces in training this week, but Lescott has been mooted as their preferred central defensive addition.

Now they are rapidly closing the net around the former Manchester City man.
