Memphis Depay's agent will not be drawn on reports that Serie A side Roma have made an approach to take his client from Manchester United on loan in the winter transfer window.

The Dutch winger has been linked with leaving Manchester United, with Everton boss Ronald Koeman already having confirmed his interest in trying to help Depay make the grade in the Premier League.

But Roma, who are looking to recruit a winger following an injury to Mohamed Salah, are pushing to take Depay to Italy on loan, with a view to a permanent €25m switch.

Speculation over Depay's future is increasing, but his agent Alex Kroes has refused to be drawn on a switch to Roma.

Asked about Roma wanting the winger, he told Italian radio station Centro Suono Sport: "No comment.

"I prefer not to say anything about the transfer rumours involving my client."

Depay was snapped up in the summer of 2015 from PSV Eindhoven by now former Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal.

He struggled to make an impact under his countryman and his standing at Old Trafford has fallen further under new manager Jose Mourinho, who appears to consider Depay a fringe player at best.
