Crystal Palace are set to miss out on French winger Paul-Georges Ntep, who has jetted to Spain to seal a move to Bundesliga club Wolfsburg.

The Wolves are holding their winter training camp in La Manga and Ntep is expected to put pen to paper on a contract until the summer of 2021 on Monday, according to German press agency DPA.

Ntep has been linked with Palace, with Eagles boss Sam Allardyce keen, but the former England manager will have to look at other targets.

Wolfsburg coach Valerien Ismael is delighted with Ntep's imminent arrival and explained: "He is a very, very interesting player."

The Bundesliga side are claimed to be paying a fee of between €5m and €8m to land Ntep from Ligue 1 side Rennes.

Ntep, 24, came through the youth ranks at Auxerre, breaking into the club's senior team in 2012, before being snapped up by Rennes in 2014.

Despite being born in the Cameroon, Ntep turns out for France at international level.

The winger will help plug the gap at Wolfsburg created by the sale of Julian Draxler to Paris Saint-Germain earlier this month.
