Paris Saint-Germain have beaten off Manchester United for the signature of Benfica sensation Goncalo Guedes, who is set to move to the French capital imminently.

Both Manchester United and PSG reached an agreement with Benfica for the winger, but PSG wanted to sign Guedes this month, while Manchester United only wanted him to arrive in June.

It is PSG who have won the race for Guedes, with the deal set to be completed in just a matter of hours, according to Portuguese sports daily Record.

Guedes held a farewell meal last night and is poised to head to link up with the French champions.

The Portuguese youngster is tipped to be costing PSG a fee in the region of €30m.
