Leeds United are speaking to former Real Betis coach Victor Sanchez about their vacant managerial post, but the Spaniard is not thought to be the club's preferred option.

The Whites have been searching for a new boss after Garry Monk quit as head coach in May, following unproductive talks, from Monk's side, with the club's new owner Andrea Radrizzani.

Leeds have been linked with being interested in Reading's Jaap Stam, but the Dutchman's agent recently rubbished talk his client could leave the Royals for another Championship club.

Now Sanchez, who has been out of work since being sacked by Real Betis, is on Leeds' radar.

According to the Yorkshire Evening Post, Sanchez is someone that Leeds are holding talks with.
