Liverpool have joined the race for out-of-favour Inter playmaker Wesley Sneijder, according to Italian daily Gazzetta dello Sport.

Sneijder is looking for what he has dubbed a "beautiful transfer" during next month’s winter window and the signs are that he should have a number of options from which to choose.

The Dutchman has been strongly linked with Tottenham Hotspur in recent weeks, but now Liverpool look to have joined the London club in the chase for his signature.

Sneijder certainly looks to be on the way out of Inter next month.

The 28-year-old has refused to sign a new contract at the Nerazzurri, which would see his salary cut from €6M per year to €4M per year – and as a result he has been frozen out.

Coach Andrea Stramaccioni has insisted he has options of equal quality to Sneijder and the Dutchman has played just five times in Serie A this season.

He has also been linked with Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain, Anzhi Makhachkala, Zenit St. Petersburg and Schalke.

It remains to be seen how much Inter will demand to sell Sneijder, but given his situation he could be available for a knockdown price.
