Liverpool, Arsenal, Juventus, and Roma are already considered suitors, while Chelsea and AC Milan have been credited with an interest as well.

Fiorentina are understood to have made a €7m offer for Jorginho already, though Napoli can be expected to match that and more.

Napoli were yesterday believed to have initiated a €9m bid for Tottenham's Capoue, who only transferred from Toulouse last summer.

Rafael Benitez's side have been promised plenty of new additions in the winter, following their exit from the Champions League group stage.

Jorginho, meanwhile, has left no one in surprise as to why he is being closely followed, thanks to his efforts in leading Verona's European charge this season.

The 22-year-old, with dreams of playing for Italy one day, has racked up seven goals and four assists in his 18 Serie A games, to put Verona level with Inter for the last Europa League spot.
