Energetic winger Juan Manuel Iturbe can now count Real Madrid amongst his suitors after Los Blancos joined the race for the Colombian speedster.

Iturbe is on loan at Italian outfit Hellas Verona from Portuguese giants FC Porto – and he has made a positive impression in Serie A.

Verona are keen to activate a purchase option in his deal, but there is stiff opposition for the 20-year-old, not least from English Premier League side Liverpool, who have already made contact with Iturbe's representatives.

The race includes a number of other clubs too; indeed the competition is so hot Inter recently declared themselves out of the running due to the expense of signing Iturbe.

Now, according to Italian outlet CalcioNews24, Real Madrid have joined the race and are firm fans of Iturbe.

Iturbe, whose contract with Porto runs until the summer of 2016, has made 26 appearances in Serie A for Verona so far this season, scoring five goals.

He has yet to win a senior cap for Argentina, but has 13 Under-20 caps to his name.
