The son of West Ham co-chairman David Sullivan has confirmed that the Hammers are on the brink of signing another defender.

The man in question is thought to be Juventus star Angelo Ogbonna, a player the Hammers are believed to have agreed a fee with the Italian champions for, seeing off competition from fellow Premier League club Everton.

West Ham are taking on Andorran side Lusitans tomorrow in the second leg of their first round Europa League tie.

And Jack Sullivan, son of David Sullivan, says that as he flies out with the side, a new centre-back will be arriving for a medical.

He took to Twitter to write: "As I fly out to Andorra tomorrow! A new CB flys [sic] in for a Medical. #COYI."

New West Ham boss Slaven Bilic has been open about his desire for the club to continue strengthening the squad and Ogbonna is the man tipped to be the Hammers' latest signing.

The defender has struggled to command regular first team football with Juventus since joining the club from crosstown rivals Torino.

It has been claimed West Ham are paying €11m for the defender.
