Michy Batshuayi is on the brink of joining Chelsea from Marseille for €40m, according to French sports daily L'Equipe, and will sign a five-year contract with the Stamford Bridge outfit.

The Belgium international striker has attracted interest from a number of clubs over the course of the summer, including Juventus, West Ham and Tottenham Hotspur.

Crystal Palace recently had an offer of €38m accepted for Batshuayi, but the striker is not keen to move to Selhurst Park and it was suggested Marseille only accepted the bid to flush out other suitors.

Now it appears he is going to Chelsea, with the Blues slapping a €40m proposal on the table which is to Marseille's liking.

The Belgian could even sign off the deal as early as tomorrow, when he will complete his medical, as Chelsea hand incoming manager Antonio Conte a star striker for the forthcoming campaign.
