A potential investment in, or takeover of, Leeds United by Italian businessman Andrea Radrizzani is claimed to be now off.

Radrizzani, a founder of sports rights firm MP&Silva, was pictured sitting alongside Leeds owner Massimo Cellino at Whites games earlier this summer and the Italian soon confirmed he was trying to understand the Yorkshire giants better.

It was claimed a deal was close, although it was unclear whether Radrizzani was looking to take over the club completely, become the majority shareholder and relegate Cellino to a minority stake, or simply take a minority shareholding.

Whatever Radrizzani was working on though is now off, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post.

And it is further claimed no investment talks with other parties are known to be on the horizon.

Recently Cellino took control of 100 per cent of the shares in Leeds after assuming those previously owned by Middle Eastern bank GFH Capital.

The Italian businessman, who used to own Serie A side Cagliari, has been a controversial figure since he took control at Elland Road in 2014.

Cellino has seen a number of Leeds fans turn against his ownership, with a protest group called 'Time To Go Massimo' having been formed.
