Leeds United are able to sign Cameron Borthwick-Jackson on loan from Manchester United if they make an approach, it has been claimed.

It was reported on Thursday that the young left-back, who spent time on loan at Wolverhampton Wanderers last season, is heading to Elland Road.

But it was then claimed that Leeds are yet to make an approach for Borthwick-Jackson, despite Manchester United making him available for loan.

The ball is now in Leeds' course and, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post, the Whites just need to make an approach to take Borthwick-Jackson to Elland Road.

Thomas Christiansen's men are keen on the left-back and it is suggested the Whites had been waiting for Manchester United to make him available for loan.

Leeds could move quickly to get the deal done and reinforce their defensive options at full-back.

The Whites lost a left-back earlier this summer when Charlie Taylor refused to renew his contract and moved to Burnley.

If Borthwick-Jackson does join Leeds, Manchester United are likely to be looking for him to clock up substantial game time.
