Belgium midfielder Kevin De Bruyne does not believe that Chelsea will bring him back to Stamford Bridge for next season and appeared to hint that the Blues have stopped paying too much attention to his feats.

De Bruyne is on a season-long loan at Bundesliga outfit Werder Bremen from Chelsea and has shone in the German top flight, so much so that Werder Bremen are desperate to keep him for the 2013/14 campaign, while Wolfsburg and Schalke are also tracking the midfield starlet.

The Belgium international has not spent too much time at Chelsea since being signed by the club in January 2012 – he was instantly loaned back to Belgian side Genk to complete the season in his homeland – and only trained with the Blues last summer in pre-season before being shipped out to Werder Bremen.

De Bruyne has insisted he does not want to return to Chelsea to sit on the bench next season and now the 21-year-old is of the opinion that the Blues do not want him back for the next campaign in any case.

"I’ll make a confession: I do not think so", De Bruyne told Belgian daily Derniere Heure when asked if he thought Chelsea would want him back for next season.

"In Bremen, I do not even talk of Chelsea", he continued.

"What I am interested in at the moment is picking up more points with Werder.

"Recently, a Chelsea scout came to see me play against Hamburg, talked to me for five minutes after the game, with the message ‘well, your progress continues’."

De Bruyne has made 20 appearances in the Bundesliga for Werder Bremen so far this season, scoring four goals and providing five assists.

He is under contract with Chelsea until 2017.
