Napoli coach Rafael Benitez gave a 100% assurance of making player purchases within the next week, after seeing his side win 3-1 against Atalanta.

Napoli are linked with a whole host of European talents this winter, including Tottenham Hotspur's Etienne Capoue and Hellas Verona's Jorginho.

The Serie A giants had splurged last summer as well, but found themselves knocked out of the Champions League last year.

However, president Aurelio De Laurentiis had, after the European exit, promised many fresh signings and Benitez yesterday confirmed a few were imminent.

"I am 100% sure that the president will do something this week", he told Rai Sport. "I am certain of it.

"We still have a few days to work and sort things out, but we’ll do at least one or two moves this week."

However, Benitez refused to reveal any names, even when asked about Jorginho, who is linked with Arsenal, Liverpool and AC Milan as well.

"I only talk about my own players, not those who are at other clubs", he explained.

Napoli have already made a €9m offer for Capoue, while they have also made contact with Verona over Jorginho.

Maxime Gonalons was declared off-limits by Lyon, though his agent recently admitted the deal was not completely off the table.
