Chelsea have seen a bid for left-back Filipe Luis knocked back by Atletico Madrid.

According to Madrid-based daily Marca, the Blues offered the Spanish champions the sum of €15m to secure the Brazilian defender – but met with a flat refusal.

Luis is keen to move to Chelsea this summer, but Atletico Madrid are battling to stop their title-winning side being ripped apart.

Diego Simeone's men have already lost striker Diego Costa to Chelsea, while the Blues are also welcoming back custodian Thibaut Courtois following three consecutive loan spells at the Vicente Calderon.

Chelsea are also thought to have secured Atletico Madrid midfielder Tiago, following the expiry of his contract.

Luis has asked Atletico Madrid to sell him to Chelsea for a sum below his €25m release clause.

However, that request was quickly refused and Los Rojiblancos insist he will not leave for even a euro less than the release clause amount.
